School Counselor *Maternity Leave*

Job Summary:
This position is for a *Maternity Leave* School Counselor at Grace Wilday Junior Middle School for the 2023-2024 school year. Position will be from September 2023-March 1, 2024.

  • Assists students in evaluating their aptitudes and abilities through the use of teacher comments, interpretation of individual standardized test scores and other pertinent data and then work with students in evolving educational and career plans in terms of such evaluation.
  • Maintains all types of required student records and ensures their confidentiality. Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping.
  • HIB Specialist.
  • l&RS Team Facilitator
  • To act as the liaison between the school and community agencies in working on student problems.
  • Works closely with teachers, administrators and other professional staff members, providing information and assistance where needed for the ultimate benefit of students.
  • Assists in the organization and administration of standardized test programs.
  • Assists in the evaluation of current curriculum offerings and in the planning, selection, and implementation of new course offerings. Provides for a smooth transition from middle school to high school, which may include orientation programs for students and parents.
