District Attendance Officer
Job Summary:
The position is for an Attendance Officer for the 2023-2024 school year.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma (4-year degree preferred)
3 years or more experience working as an Attendance Officer
Valid New Jersey driver's license
Demonstrates ability to work successfully with children and adults, and be sensitivite to cultural
diversity.
Knowledge of child welfare and compulsory education laws and regulations and minimum one-year
of work-related experience
The ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Good telephone skills and ability to communicate effectively
Must have ability to use the student information system effectively
Must be able to create and run attendance reports for all schools
Must be able to run and print attendance letters for students who are truant.
Must work to increase school accountability for attendance issues by building positive relationships with
students and community members and by linking school attendance to increased academic
performance.
